RIWCA Launches at White Electric Coffee Co-op
On November 14, the Rhode Island Worker Cooperative Alliance (RIWCA) launched with enthusiasm at White Electric. We were joined by more than 50 (or 60?!) Rhode Islanders, as well as a representative from Cooperative Connecticut, a sister org. The RIWCA membership is now composed of more than 10 worker-owned cooperatives, 7 democratic workplaces, and multiple support organizations.
After a jubilant party to celebrate the growing co-op sector, RIWCA is ready to build shared services and solidarity between our cooperative enterprises. Here’s to the next economy, one based on cooperation, reciprocity, and direct democracy!
